‘I no longer feel alone in my loss.’
10 ladies from all over Northern Ireland came to our second Loved retreat in that region. Stunning views over the bay at Donaghadee again formed a most peaceful backdrop for the day. We shared our stories and recognised that we all had so much in common with the heart break, and the physical and emotional challenges of a miscarriage experience. We looked at the ways that this has affected us, and considered how we could address these. We ended with a feeling of hope, as in a time of reflection, we acknowledged that our babies are in God’s presence, and we and they are loved.
One lady said at the end of the day:
‘It gave me time out of the busy day to day routine to focus on my baby and the experience of miscarriage. It was a special time to remember her and to spend time with others on the same journey who understand.’
